In December 2001, Zillertal's largest linked skiing area was opened, incorporating the resorts of Hippach, Mayrhofen, Finkenberg and Eggalm/Rastkogel. The area now boasts a total of over 143 km of immaculate runs and 46 ski lifts with a total capacity of 60,452 persons per hour. In order to ensure the best skiing conditions, state of the art snowmaking equipment covers phenomenal 96 hectares. 40 km of impeccable blue runs cater to the novice and beginner. Intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders will find plenty to entertain them among the 86 km of red runs and 20 km of black runs.

For many years now we in Mayrhofen have been dedicated to families, and to children in particular, and have therefore put every effort into improving our offer in the tourist sector. The local ski schools, for instance, have long specialized in courses for children and have given a fresh impetus to the development of new teaching methods on an international basis. Ski instruction and half-day or day care (including lunch) is available for toddlers and children aged 0 - 14 years!
The local accommodation providers have agreed to offer their services at bargain rates, and a large number of restaurants offer half-price lunches/dinners and moderately priced soft drinks for children.
Kids are indeed most welcome in Mayrhofen! Collect your welcome present at the local tourist office, and don't forget to enter your name, address, and birth date in the birthday list - you'll be in for a big surprise!
